innovators for industry
Software
The RTC
®
5 PC/104-Plus board can use the same
software drivers and DLL files as the
RTC
®
5 PC interface board. Additionally to the oper-
ating systems listed in section 2.2.2 on page 26 for
the RTC
®
5 PC interface board, the RTC
®
5 software
drivers and RTC
®
5 DLL files also support Microsoft’s
WINDOWS XP Embedded operating system (i.e. the
32-bit and 64-bit versions of
WINDOWS XP Embedded SP2 or higher together
with RTC
®
5-software-package version 2011_09_29
or higher or DLL version DLL 528 or higher). Up to
four RTC
®
5 PC/104-Plus boards can be operated via a
CPU board.
15.1.3 Optional Functionality
The RTC
®
5 PC/104-Plus board can be configured for
the same functionality as the RTC
®
5PCinterface
board (see page 27). Optional functionality must be
enabled by SCANLAB or installed.
15.1.4 Identification
The serial number of the RTC
®
5 PC/104-Plus board is
printed on a white label attached to the board
(format: “RTC SN…”).
The board’s ID number and configuration are
described in the packaging list (also see "Optional
Accessories", page 29 and "Type Identification", page
575).
15.1.5 Type Identification
The ID number of the RTC
®
5 PC/104-Plus board
reveals the board’s factory-equipped jumper config-
uration (JP1-JP8). The jumper configuration is addi-
tionally encoded in a three-digit type code scheme:
Examples:
“Type 000”: jumpers JP1-JP8 open
“Type 124”: JP1 in position1-2 (5 V signal level),
JP3 closed (DATA7 at pin B40),
JP8 closed (LATCH an pin B42)
The product is delivered with jumpers JP10, JP12,
J17, JP18 and JP19 in their default configurations
(see page 584).
Caution!
•The RTC
®
5 PC/104-Plus board does not support
power-saving modes that switch off power to
the PCI bus. Accordingly, you must disable
standby or sleep modes of the operating
system. Also see the note on page 27.
