gearpumpsectionfurthestfromthepistonpumpsupplieshydraulicowtothe
steering,cuttingdeckliftandtractionchargecircuits.Hydraulicowfromthenal
pumpsectionisdirectedtotheappropriatecircuitsbyapressurecompensator
valvelocatedinthesteering/deckliftcontrolmanifold.
Thesteeringcontrolvalveisaclosedcenter,loadsensingvalve.Thesteering
controlvalvesensestheoilowthatisneededforsteeringandthepressure
compensatorvalve(LC)inthesteering/deckliftcontrolmanifoldwillsupplythe
correctamountofoil.Gearpumpoilowthatisnotusedforthesteeringcircuit
isavailableforthetractionchargeanddeckliftcircuits.
Whenthesteeringwheelisintheneutral,atrestpositionandtheengineis
running,hydraulicoilfromthenalgearpumpsectionentersthesteering/decklift
controlmanifoldportP1,owsthroughthepressurecompensatorvalve(LC)and
isroutedtothesteeringcontrolvalvewhereitdeadheadsatthecontrolvalve
spool.Oilisalsosenttobothendsofthe(LC)spool.Ononeendofthespool,oil
isdirectedtoboththesteeringreliefvalve(RV1)andalsototheOR1oriceand
outthemanifoldLSporttothesteeringcontrolvalve.Thisowprovidessteering
loadsensingthatisdirectedthroughasmallpassageinthesteeringcontrol
valvespoolandsleevebeforereturningtothehydraulicreservoir.Aslongas
thisloadsenseowisreturningtothereservoirduetonosteeringinput,the
pressurecompensatorvalve(LC)spoolisshiftedtodirectpumpsectionowto
thetractionchargeanddeckliftcircuits.
LeftTurn
Whenaleftturnismadewiththeenginerunning,theturningofthesteering
wheelpositionsthesteeringunitspoolvalvesothattheloadsenseowis
blockedoff.Withoutloadsenseow,pressuresontheendsofmanifoldpressure
compensatorvalve(LC)starttoequalizecausing(LC)tomovetowarditsneutral
positionwhichallowstheneededoiltothesteeringcontrolvalveforturning.Oil
isroutedoutmanifoldportCF ,intosteeringvalveportP ,throughthesteering
controlspool,isdrawnthroughtherotarymetersectionandouttheLporttothe
steeringcylinders.Therotarymeterensuresthattheoilowtothecylindersis
proportionaltotheamountoftheturningonthesteeringwheel.Fluidleaving
thecylindersowsbackthroughsteeringvalveRport,thespoolvalve,outtheT
portandisthenreturnedtothehydraulicreservoir.
Thesteeringcontrolvalvereturnstotheneutralpositionwhenturningis
completed.
RightTurn
Whenarightturnismadewiththeenginerunning,theturningofthesteering
wheelpositionsthesteeringunitspoolvalvesothattheloadsenseowis
blockedoff.Withoutloadsenseow,pressuresontheendsofmanifoldpressure
compensatorvalve(LC)starttoequalizecausing(LC)tomovetowarditsneutral
positionwhichallowstheneededoiltothesteeringcontrolvalveforturning.Oil
isroutedoutmanifoldportCF ,intosteeringvalveportP ,throughthesteering
controlspool,isdrawnthroughtherotarymetersectionandouttheRporttothe
steeringcylinders.Therotarymeterensuresthattheoilowtothecylindersis
proportionaltotheamountoftheturningonthesteeringwheel.Fluidleavingthe
cylindersowsbackthroughthesteeringvalveLport,thespoolvalve,outtheT
portandisthenreturnedtothehydraulicreservoir.
Thesteeringcontrolvalvereturnstotheneutralpositionwhenturningis
completed.
