Theremotesense(24Voltenable)relayprovidespowertothe24voltalternator
senseterminal.The24voltalternatorwithinternalvoltageregulatorusethis
circuittomonitorthe24voltsystembatteryvoltage.Theremotesenserelayis
energizedbythemastercontroller.Theremotesenserelayisattachedtothe
rearpowercenterintherightrearcorneroftheenginecompartment(Figure246).
Testing
1.MakesurekeyswitchisOFF .Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
2.Turnbattery−disconnectswitchtotheOFFposition.
3.Verifythelocationoftherelaybeingtested(above)andaccesstherelay.
4.Disconnectwireharnessconnectorfromrelay.Removerelayfrommounting
bracketfortesting.
Note:Priortotakingsmallresistancereadingswithadigitalmultimeter,short
themetertestleadstogether.Themeterwilldisplayasmallresistancevalue
(usually0.5ohmsorless).Thisresistanceisduetotheinternalresistance
ofthemeterandtestleads.Subtractthisvaluefromthemeasuredvalue
ofthecomponentyouaretesting.
