4.3.8.4 Connection adapter for start switch, program selector, and socket tray
You can use a connection adapter to connect the start switch, program selector, or socket tray to the
compact system, system box, or card rack field. The adapter itself has only one connection, but has an
additional reserve (e. g. for PROFIBUS) of two cables, 8 mm diameter.
4.4 Compatibility with foreign substances
All tightening system components from Rexroth are developed and tested in accordance with the latest
state-of-the-art.
As it is impossible to follow the continuous development of all the substances with which our tightening
system components may come into contact (e.g. lubricants for machine tools), reactions to the materials
used by us cannot be excluded in every case.
For this reason, you must perform a compatibility test for all new lubricants, detergents, etc. with our
housing materials prior to use.
4.5 Planning guidelines
The basis for problem-free and continuous operation of Ethernet networks is planning in compliance with
standards. In this phase, realization as well as later utilization are defined.
Always comply with all applicable regulations (safety, EMC).
Decisive standards/regulations apply the field of application-neutral cabling and current general
standards/regulations for communication cabling.
Observe the minimum bending radius of all cables.
Observe the maximum cable length.
Only use suitable routing systems.
Copper communication cables must not be routed together with high-power cables. Comply with the
required separating distances in compliance with applicable EMC requirements in the area.
Verify compliance with quality requirements by means of measurements according to standards and
industrial regulations.
Appropriate grounding and potential equalization are crucial to ensure electrical interference
resistance of Ethernet networks. Observe the information on installation of grounding and potential
equalization for Rexroth tightening systems (see section Grounding from page 99).
