5.2 Description of all PLC signals
The sections below provide a description of all PLC signals in alphabetic order.
5.2.1 Input signals
ActEn Active Enable: Enables a single tightening process
Input signal used for:
• Tightening channel (ActEn)
• Communication unit in single-channel operation (CH x.y ActEn)
This signal enables the tightening channel for a single tightening process.
After tightening, the tightening channel is disabled for the next tightening operation until ActEn changes
from "high" to "low" and back to "high" again. The tightening channel is then enabled for the next
tightening. This type of enabling only enables the channel for a single tightening. The behavior of the
tightening channel depends on the assignment of the Ch x.y En and Ch x.y ActEn signals.
The following table describes the enable function in the assignment of the PLC assignment table.
AppIn 0-15 Application In Bit 0-15: Application-specific input signal
Input signal used for:
• Tightening channel (AppIn 0-15)
• Communication unit in single-channel operation (CH x.y AppIn 0-15)
• Communication unit in application operation (KE x AppIn 0-15)
Application-specific signals are used to make special adjustments for customer requirements. They are,
e.g., suitable for looping through signals: a signal can be read by the controller via interface modules and
then output to the partner controller using the controller.
A tightening channel released via the KE with Ch x.y ActEn will not be blocked by removing Ch x.y SEn.
The tightening channel will remain released for another tightening.
In the PLC assignment table, the signal may not be applied to theInt interface with a channel being in
application mode. Otherwise, the following errors will be output after the application has been started:
2115 Spindle failure after start signal and 2112 No result from tightening channel.
Signal in PLC assignment table Enable function
Ch x.y En Ch x.y ActEn
Not applied Not applied
Channel blocked.
Applied Not applied
"High" signal enables tightening.
Not applied Applied
Enables only a single tightening by changing from "low" to "high"
Applied Applied
Channel is only enabled if Ch x.y En is at "high" and signal Ch x.y ActEn
has changed from "low" to "high".
In single-channel operation with activation via the KE, the ActEn and En signals must also be applied on
the INT interface of the SE PLC table according to the assignment of the KE PLC table.
