6.6.2 Installing the ToolsNet gateway
Install the ToolsNet gateway on a PC running under Windows XP or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit). You
can also use the PC on which the operating system BS350 is installed.
If you have already installed the ToolsNet gateway on your PC, proceed as follows:
1. Save the
XML ToolsNetGW.ini.
2. Uninstall the "old" ToolsNet gateway.
Installation sequence
Start installing the ToolsNet gateway by executing (double-clicking) the Setup-XmlToolsNetGW-
<version>.exe installation file on the installation CD (<version> stands for the version stated in the
filename).
The ToolsNet gateway is installed with an installation wizard as it is usual for Windows systems.
From the "Language Settings" dialgog box, select the language for the installation wizard and confirm
with OK.
The display shows the installation start screen. Click Next to continue or Cancel to exit the
installation wizard.
Select the target folder for your installation from the following screen. The default folder is
C:\Programme\XmlToolsNetGW. Click Search to change the folder. Confirm your selection by
clicking Next.
Click Install on the following screen to start the installation procedure.
The next screen shows that the installation is completed. Click Finish to exit the installation wizard.
During installation, the XMLToolsNetGW.ini (configuration file) and XMLToolsNetGW.ini.example
(example) files are created. After completed installation, these files are opened for editing in the editor.
Configure the ToolsNet gateway by entering the appropriate data in the configuration file, see
„Configuring the ToolsNet gateway“ on page 326.
Save the configuration file.
Alternatively, you can also overwrite the new configuration file with the previous version of the
configuration file saved beforehand.
Complete configuration by clicking OK in the following dialog box.
While the ToolsNet gateway is installed, the XMLToolsNetGW ToolsNet service is also created.
Activate the functionality of the ToolsNet gateway by manually starting the ToolsNet service. The
ToolsNet service is also automatically activated when the PC is started.
