6.9.3 PLC-signals
The VW corporate requirement specifications "Controlled tightening systems" requires the tightening
system to be controlled via VW-XML. Functionally, this function is implemented via PLC signals, i.e. both
in the compact system and in the modular system there is one PLC module "XML". In order to use all
functions of VW-XML in the compact system (CS) or modular system (KE), all available PLC-signals have
to be applied to the corresponding PLC-module.
PLC-module "XML" of the compact system
In the compact system, the PLC module for VW-XML (see table 6–137) has
• 20 input signals
• 24 output signals
In the modular system, the following rules apply to the PLC-module for VW-XML:
•PLC signals BoxNut LED x (x = 0…7):
Either all these PLC signals can be applied or none.
•PLC signals Progx (x = 0…7):
Either all these PLC signals can be applied or none.
• As soon as one input signal is stored, all related output signals must be stored.
