6.1.3 Identification codes
The results data record of a tightening is uniquely identified for internal or external further processing
using an identification code (ID code) and can thus be assigned to the tightened component. The ID-code
can contain up to 64 ASCII characters, such as parts of a part number, production number, serial number,
chassis number, etc.
The ID code is transferred to the controller before the tightening process is started. The internal cycle
counter can be used for identification as an alternative to an ID code.
6.1.3.1 Selection of the source for ID-codes
The source of the ID codes is defined in the BS350 operating system under System Tightening cell
data ID code by selecting the desired source in the Device selection field.
Fig. 6–2: ID code source selection
The exact number of available options depends on the configuration of your tightening controller (KE, SE,
CS). There are the following options:
1 Device selection
2 Delete ID code after start
3 Extend ID code with sequence number
4 Use channel-specific ID code in application operation
