6.1.8 Formats of the results output
Format of the results output for single-channel tightenings
Tightening results can only be output for single-channel tightenings directly from the control unit or from
the compact system. The results output consists of:
• the ID code that has been transmitted via the field bus interface before the start of the tightening
(max. 64byte) and
• the tightening results (37 byte).
The results are output without any additional comments, i.e. this output does not contain any information
on the numbers. It is possible to assign result values and parameters (e.g. angle, torque, set value) by their
position in the data buffer and the data format used (ASCII, INT8, INT32). This allows for an extremely
compact results output.
You can find a detailed sequence of the actual PLC signals in chapter 5, Control signals, from page 121.
Since the mechanisms which the data services use for rounding the tightening results data are different
from those used by the Rexroth Tightening System 350, the tightening results may be interpreted
differently. Data services can define the rounding of tightening results data; the Rexroth Tightening
System 350 does not round tightening results data internally.
This involves the following data services:
• Rexroth IPM Protocol
• Rexroth Open Protocol
•Rexroth XML
• PLUS Protocol
• ToolsNet Protocol
Example • The lower and upper limit values were defined as 5 Nm and 9.92 Nm, respectively.
• The tightening result in the Rexroth Tightening System 350 yields a value of 9.94 Nm.
• The data service rounds the value to one decimal place, so that the value transferred in the protocol
is 9.9 Nm.
This means that the data service evaluates the tightening result to be OK, however, the Rexroth
Tightening System 350 evaluates it to be NOK.
