The controller messages of the VW-XML protocol are implemented as required in chapter 4.3
"Messages/SST-controller" of the VW-corporate requirement specifications. Special features for
adjusting the Rexroth Tightening System 350 are available for individual controller messages.
Channel number <KNR>
In VW-XML, the channel number is used to address certain channels explicitly.
In single-channel operation with the compact system, channel number assignment is optional. However,
it is possible to address the compact system using channel number 1.
A single tightening channel of the modular system is identified as follows:
Tool release <TOL>
In order to be able to release or disable the tool of a certain channel via VW-XML, the signal
• "Enable" (En) must be applied to the "XML" PLC-module in the compact system; see table 6–137;
• "Enable of the particular channel (CH x.y En) must be applied to the "XML" PLC-module in the
modular system; see table 6–138.
Loosen disable <LSN>
In order to be able to release or disable loosening of a certain channel via VW-XML, the signal
• "Block Loosen" (CcwLock) must be applied to the "XML" PLC-module in the compact system; see
table 6–137.
• "Block Loosen" of the particular channel (CH x.y CcwLock) must be applied to the "XML"
PLC-module in the modular system; see table 6–138.
Start <STR>
In order to be able to start the tightening spindle of a certain channel via VW-XML, the signal
• "Start signal" (Cw) must be applied to the "XML" PLC-module in the compact system; see table 6–
137.
• "Start signal" of the particular channel (CH x.y Cw) must be applied to the "VW-XML" PLC-module
in the modular system; see table 6–138.
Program selection <PRS>
In order to be able to select the tightening program of a certain channel via VW-XML, the signal
• S for program selection (Prg0…Prg7) must be applied to the "XML" PLC-module in the compact
system; see table 6–137.
• S for program selection of the particular channel (CH x.y Prg0…CH x.y Prg7) must be applied to the
"XML" PLC-module in the modular system; see table 6–138.
Group selection <GRP>
In order to be able to display and use all functions of a modular system with eight (8) application blocks
and 48 parameterizable applications VW-XML, the group number (GNR) has to be coded. If the number
of NOK group events is reached, the application block is disabled.
Group number for application block 1:
Example For a modular system, this assignment means that a channel in slot 3 of rack 2 is addressed using
channel number 15.
