4.3 Integration of the tightening system in an installation
4.3.1 Ambient conditions
The components of the Tightening System 350 have been designed for use in an industrial production
environment. The ambient conditions required for trouble-free operation are found in the technical data of
the respective operating instructions:
„CS351“
„SB356“
„BT356“
Protection classes
The system components comply with the following protection classes:
Compact system, SB356: IP 54
•BT356: IP20
Tightening spindles: IP 54
ErgoSpin: IP 40
BT356 card rack field: IP 20, if non-inserted component/interface module slots are closed with
appropriate dummy plates (if installed in a suitable control cabinet: IP 54)
Tightening spindles: IP 54, if the electrical interfaces on the measurement transducer and motor have
been closed with protective caps or the measurement transducer cable is plugged in.
Non-inserted component/interface module slots must always be closed with appropriate dummy
plates to ensure compliance with EMC measures and electrical safety. With these measures, the
tightening system meets the EMC requirements for industrial systems (severity level 4).
