3.4.2.6 KE350 and KE350G IL communication units
The KE350 and KE350G IL communication units coordinate the individual control units and organize the
interfaces with external systems (e. g. PLC or central computer). The internal system communication with
the control units is implemented via a standard bus system.
To link with external systems, two serial interfaces and three unoccupied slots are available. Via these, the
tightening system can be controlled and, if necessary, data can be exchanged. Various interface modules
are available for controlling and data communication.
The logic is already integrated in the KE350G IL. It can be freely programmed in accordance with IEC
61131-3 and provides the user with countless automation options for the entire tightening process.
Depending on the communication unit, the following interfaces are available:
X3U1, X3U2 Two USB host interfaces, compatible with specification 2.0
X3U3 USB device interface, specification compatible with 2.0
Slot A Slot for the use of type A standard modules
Slot B1, B2 Two slots for the use of standard type B modules
X3C1 RS232 interface
X7E1 Ethernet interface
X6C1 Mass storage slot for CF350 (CF card)
XDVI DVI interface to connect an external monitor
X3U4 USB host interface, specification compatible with 2.0 USB host interface for connection of an
external pointing device
