6. Remove the cap screw, 1, three flat washers, and
locknut from the upper gearbox mount.
Carefully support gearbox, 2, and remove the
remaining lower flange cap screw. Pull the
gearbox straight away from unit. The upper roll
drive shaft will slide apart allowing gearbox
removal.
IMPORTANT: The conditioner roll gearbox is heavy
and awkward. Use caution not to drop the gearbox,
as personal injury or damage to the gearbox may
result.

7. Block the conditioner rolls, using a block between
the rolls or a bar through the upper roll U-joint,
and loosen the cap screw, 1, retaining the lower
sheave.

8. Leave the cap screw in the end of the shaft to
protect the shaft, and install a puller, 1, to remove
the sheave. The sheave is mounted on a tapered
spline. Apply force to the sheave using a puller.
If necessary, strike the sheave using a rubber
mallet or soft-faced hammer. The sheave should
pop off the splines.
