Assembling the needle bar linkage

34. Place the housing of the split needle bar (19) and tighten it using
screws (18) and (20).
35. Use a tool to press through the screw connection (21).
36. Turn the handwheel and check the split needle bar.
37. If the split needle bar works properly, reconnect the pneumatic hoses
(22) to the housing of the split needle bar (19).
38. Open the menu Service > Machine test > Multi test I/O
to check the outputs of the split needle bar.
• Output Y7: Needle left
• Output Y8: Needle right
39. Assemble plate and felt, middle knife guard and middle knife.
40. Place arm cover, head cover and motor cover.

Then check the following settings:
• Aligning the needle bar with the throat plate ( p. 40)
• The distance between hook tips and needles ( p. 67)
• Needle guard ( p. 69)
