5.43 Empty Slot Module EP-8310

Empty slot modules can be integrated as reserve modules in a station. They bridge all
contacts in the basic module 1:1 and otherwise have no function. Empty slot modules are
passive modules without fieldbus communication, therefore they are not considered during
configuration.
Note: A maximum of three passive modules (power-feed module, potential distribution
module, and empty slot module) may be installed in succession, however the next
module to be installed must be an active module.
