Function codes 1, 2, 5 and 15 for bit-wise access to registers. For the usage of these codes please note:
In MODBUS protocol bit addressing separated from register addressing has not been specified. Bit and
register address need to be implemented within the access address as follows: dismiss the most
significant digit of the register address, shift the three less significant digits to the left and use the vacant
least significant digit for bit addressing.
Example: register access with function code 1 to address 0x80AB would be a read access to register
0x080A bit 11. Therefore, the usage of function codes 1, 2, 5, 15 is limited to the address range of
0x0000 – 0x01FF and 0x0800 – 0x09FF.
