REMOVAL
Remove the oil seal.
Remove the starter drive gear.
Remove the "torx" bolts.
Remove the starter clutch.
8 STARTER CLUTCH INSPECTION
Inspect the roller for smooth rotation.
Remove the roller and check for excessive
or local wear.
a STARTER DRIVE GEAR
INSPECTION
Inspect the starter drive gear for damage or
local or excessive wear.
O.D. SERVICE LIMIT:
54.15 mm (2.132 in.)

CRANKSHAFT INSPECTION
Set the crankshaft on a stand or V blocks.
Set a dial gauge into the center main journal.
SERVICE LIMIT:
Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions and
0.05 mm (0.002 in.)
read
runout at the center journal.
