Honda CM400A - Rocker Arm and Camshaft Removal

CYLINDER HEADIVALVE
ROCKER ARM AND CAMSHAFT
REMOVAL
Remove the fuel tank if the engine is serviced
in the frame.
Remove the L crankcase cover and cylinder
head cover.
Loosen the cylinder head hold-down bolts.
CAUTION
Perform this operation while the
I
engine is cold to prevent warpage due
to heat.
Loosen the cylinder head hold-down
bolts in the sequence shown in
2-3
steps.
Remove the cylinder head hold-down bolts.
I
the head are exposed. When removing
them, use care to keep dirt from enter-
ing the cylinder head.
Remove the
camshaft holders.
Remove the springs and rocker arms by pull-
ing out the rocker arm shafts.
NOTE
Mark each part to insure original
assembly.
Wave washers replace springs at
indicated locations on the engine with
the frame number starting with the
followino.
