Removing the Fan Tray on the SRX650 Services Gateway
A single handle with two screws holds both the fan tray and air filter on the back of the
services gateway. To remove the fan tray, you must also remove the air filter. See
Figure 26 on page 152.
1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect
the strap to one of the ESD points on the side of the chassis. For more information
about ESD, see “Preventing Electrostatic Discharge Damage to the SRX650 Services
Gateway” on page 168.
2. Use a number 2 Phillips screwdriver to loosen and remove only the center screw of
the handle.
3. Grasp the fan tray handle and pull it out approximately 1 to 3 inches.
WARNING: To avoid injury, keep tools and your fingers away from the fans
asyou slide the fan tray out of the chassis. Thefans might still be spinning.
4. Press the latch located on the inside of the fan tray to release it from the chassis.
5. Place one hand under the fan tray to support it and carefully slide the fan tray (and
air filter) completely out of the chassis.
