3. Turn the instrument on and allow it to complete its boot up process,
ignoring any error messages.
4. Turn the instrument self-alignment routine off by pressing System,
Alignments, Auto Align, Off.
AC / DC Coupling Selection - Option 503, 508, and 526 only
5. If the instrument has Option 544 skip to step 16 - .
6. Tune the instrument to a span of 0 Hz by pressing SPAN, Zero Span.
7. Connect a signal generator to the A9 Attenuator A RF Input #2. Refer to
Figure 4-4.
8. Tune the signal generator to 1 MHz with an amplitude of −20 dBm.
9. Connect a spectrum analyzer to the A9 Attenuator A RF Output. Refer to
Figure 4-4.
10.Tune the spectrum analyzer to 1 MHz with a span of 1 MHz
11.Change the instrument input coupling to DC by pressing Input / Output,
RF Input, RF Coupling DC.
