Signal Path Verification
While there are fifteen different signal paths through the A24 Conducted Filter
assembly, all of which can be selected with the use of the instrument's Service
Menu, only twelve of them are used during normal instrument operation. This
section will describe how to verify the functionality of all fifteen signal paths.
1. Remove the instrument dress cover (MP24) and the top brace (MP10).
Refer to Chapter 18, “Assembly Replacement Procedures” for instructions
on removing these covers.
2. Referring to Figure 5-4, remove W32 and W33 from the A24 Conducted
Filter assembly.
3. Turn the instrument on and allow it to complete its boot up process,
ignoring any error messages.
4. Turn the instrument self-alignment routine off by pressing System,
Alignments, Auto Align, Off.
5. Connect a signal generator to the A24 Conducted Filter assembly RF Input
(J402), as shown in Figure 5-4.
6. Set the power level of the signal generator to −20 dBm.
7. Connect a spectrum analyzer to the A24 Conducted Filter assembly RF
Output (J401), as shown in Figure 5-4.
