RF Preselector Section Troubleshooting
Filter Path Verification
8. Tune the spectrum analyzer to a start and stop frequency equal to that
shown in Table 5-10 for Band 0.
9. Tune the A24 Conducted Filter assembly to the Band 0 filter path by
entering the Service menu and pressing More, RF Preselector, Band Lock,
Conducted, Band 0.
10.Tune the signal generator to the Verification Start Frequency listed in
Table 5-10 for Band 0.
11.Place one of the active traces on the spectrum analyzer into its Max Hold
function.
12.Slowly vary the frequency of the signal generator between the Verification
Start Frequency and the Verification Stop Frequency listed in Table 5-10 to
draw out the Band 0 filter shape.
13.Verify that the passband gain or loss is equal to the Typical Passband
Gain/Loss shown in Table 5-10 for Band 0, and that the filter shape is
similar to that shown in Figure 5-30.
If either the passband gain/loss or filter shape is incorrect the most likely
cause of the problem is the A24 Conducted Filter assembly itself.
14.Repeat step 8 through step 13 for the remained of the A24 Conducted
Filter assembly filter bands shown in Table 5-10, using the Verification
Start Frequency, Verification Stop Frequency, and Typical Passband
Gain/Loss shown in Table 5-10 for each band.
Verify that the passband for each additional filter band is similar to that
shown in the corresponding examples shown in Figure 5-31 through
Figure 5-42.
