FUEL
Refer to the list of approved fuels in Section 1 of this manual.
Fuel On-Loading
Tank Filling Procedure:
1. Connect the fueling nozzle ground to the tie-down ring on the aircraft’s
strut.
2. Place a protective mat on the wing near the fuel ller and remove the ller
cap.
3. Service with fuel as follows:
a. If the Jet Fuel is premixed with icing inhibitor, ll the wing tanks with the
required amount.
b. If the Jet Fuel does not contain pre-mixed icing inhibitor, select a fuel
system icing inhibitor complying with MIL-DTL-85470 (DIEGME) and
blend manually, as outlined in the following section.
4. Remove the fuel nozzle, protective-pad, and ground-cable and install the
fuel ller cap. Check to ensure the ller cap is installed securely.
CAUTION: Verify that the proper grade and type of fuel is being used to
service the aircraft.
NOTE: When utilizing a proportioner installed on refueling equipment,
follow the directions provided by the manufacturer.
CAUTION: JP-5 and JP-8 fuels contain anti-icing additives. Do not use
additional additives with these fuels.
WARNING: All fuels used must contain compliant anti-icing fuel additive.
Refer to Section 2 of this manual.
