6.2.2 Login
Basically the user of a PRISMAproduction system should be able to work under the same
conditions in every environment (Master, Slave or from a LAN-connected workstation), i.e.
with the same windows and with the same functionality.
To get access to PRISMAproduction, a login, which requires an access authorisation de-
fined in PRISMAproduction, is always performed.
The difference is, whether the login on the Linux system is performed on a dedicated PRIS-
MA server (Master or Slave) or from outside (from a workstation), where PRISMAproduc-
tion is only one application among others.
The user of the PRISMA server, who is already able to work with the Linux system after
logging in, has also the authorisation to work with PRISMAproduction without an extra login
dialog, i.e. the login procedure to PRIS;MAproduction is performed automatically (Auto-Lo-
gin)
On the contrary the access to PRISMAproduction must not be automatically allowed when
logging on to the desktop of the operating system via the network.
The PRISMAproduction system administrator is able to define if the user is allowed to login
to PRISMAproduction automatically or not, when creating the user (option ’Automatic logon
on PRISMA master’). If the account should only be used in the network, the option should
be set to ’No’.
Auto-Login
Auto-login means, that the logon to the operating system automatically implies the logon to
PRISMAproduction.
Auto-login is generally possible on all computers of the PRISMAproduction system (Master
and Slave), if the Linux user is registered in the PRISMAproduction data base as PRIS-
MAproduction user. This is the case
with all four default users on Master and Slave servers (admin, service, applic, opera-
tor),
on the Master if the account was created with the option ’Automatic logon on PRISMA
master’ in the PRISMAproduction user administration,
on the Slave if the account created for the PRISMAproduction login is the same as the
one created for the Linux login.
Auto-login is not allowed if you access PRISMAproduction from outside (via workstation).
In this case you always have to confirm a separate login dialog.
