6.19.5 Control Function ”lpc”
Syntax: lpc [sub-command]
Description:
The lpc (line printer control) command is mostly for administration tasks and therefore some
of the subcommands may only be executed by the super user. If the user is not authorized,
the command will be ignored and the error message "->Privileged command" will be dis-
played instead.
The control function can either be invoked in interactive mode by simply typing "lpc" at the
command line, or together with a sub-command and the required options. In interactive
mode, it is possible to enter sub-commands along with the required options. It is stopped
with the command "quit" or "exit".
Sub-commands:
abort {all | [printer ...]} Terminate the spooling daemon immediately
for all or the specified printer
clean {all | [printer ...]} Clean up the spool directory for all or the spec-
ified printer
disable {all | [printer ...]} Disable queuing for all or the specified printer
enable {all | [printer ...]} Enable queuing for all or the specified printer
