6.19.3 Getting Spool Queue Information with ”lpq”
Syntax: lpq -P[Printer name]
Description:
All available information about the status of a logical print queue can be obtained with the
command "lpq" (line printer queue).
Options:
P[printer name] The logical printer name as descriptor in the printcap file.
This parameter is required
[job_id] (optional, give information for specified job only)
Examples:
lpq –PPS700
In this example the following information was returned:
Note: No job information can be given for remote printers.
6.19.4 Cancel Print Jobs with ”lprm”
Syntax: lprm -P[Printer name] [jobid]
Description:
All users can cancel their own print jobs with the command "lprm" (line printer remove). This
is done with the command lprm [jobid] [username]. The user "root" cannot cancel any re-
mote print jobs.
