Positioning the toolbar
You can choose where to position the toolbars. Toolbars in “Metal” display mode have a
dotted area. Left-click this area and drag the toolbar to the position you want.
This can be either inside or outside the PRISMApro Explorer. For example, you might
choose to place the toolbar along the left edge of the workspace.
To move a toolbar in “Motif” or “Windows” display mode, click an unused part of the toolbar
and drag it to the position of your choice.
5.3 Task related Workspaces
The PRISMAproduction user interface is based on a technical concept, which allows to eas-
ily add new applications to the user interface.
However users may have differnent requirements for a user interface of a system. The stan-
dard UI of the Explorer provides a mighty and structured tool for the user who wants to work
with the full range of functionality of the system and who is familiar with the navigation in
hierarchially structured trees.
On the other hand it might be beneficial for users who have defined tasks and only deal with
parts of the system to have a restricted access to only these parts of the system which they
are actually using.
To acheive a simplification of the Explorer UI you can use so called workspaces with this
version, which provide a simplified view of the user interface. Only these applications are
open which the user needs for his special task. Additionally the applications are already ar-
ranged in an expedient way.
The following workspaces are provided:
• Basic Operator: Simple workspace for the operator.
• Operator with Job Submission: Provides additionally the possibility to submit jobs.
• Job Submission: Workspace which allows the submission and control of jobs.
• Vario PJM: Workspace for the users of the Vario PJM.
The Default-Workspace provides the classical Explorer UI.
Task related workspaces can be described by the following features:
• Only these applications are active which are required for the task.
• Applications with belong together are combined in one frame.
