• The selection and arrangement of applications within a workspace cannot be modified,
but you can change the size of the applications or hide them completely.
• Changing to another workspace or to the default UI is always possible.
• The full functionality of an application in a workspace is not restricted (e.g. clicking on
a job ticker opens the PJM).
• Like on the classical Explorer UI the current settings are saved and will be restored if
you open the explorer again.
You can select the workspaces from the menu ’Explorer’ -> ’Open Workspace’.
Note: By default the menus for the single applications are hidden. You can bring them up,
if you move over the title bar of the respective application. The menus have their
usual functionality.
5.3.1 Workspace 'Basic Operator'
This workapace is meant for the operator. It combines the most important tasks of this user:
• Monitoring of the jobs
• Control of the printers
• Monitoring of the print process
5.3.2 Workspace 'Operator with Job Submission'
This workspace is an extention of the ’Basic Operator’ workspace. It additionally provides
the possibility to submit jobs. Only these files are visible which are stored in the $TARGET/
user directory. If you click on a ticket file, the PJM opens automatically and the job can be
submitted. Modification of the job tickes depends on the user rights. If the default user ’op-
erator’ is logged on, the PJM runs in ’Production’ mode which does not allow essential mod-
ification of the job ticket.
5.3.3 Workspace ’Job Submission’
This workspace allows the user to create and monitor jobs. It contains the PJM and the Job
list.
