6.9 Device Configuration
The configuration interface provides functions for configuring devices (tape drives, floppy
drives, network connections and the like) – which means making them known to PRIS-
MAproduction. Once a device has been registered with PRISMAproduction, it is shown in
the Directory Viewer.
When configuring media for the Print File Manager via ’Configuration’ -> ’Devices’ you
have to use special keywords:
Under ’Type’: PFL_HOST or PFL_TAPE (computer or tape device)
Under ’Format’: PFL_TAR or PFL_CPIO
If you select PFL_HOST, you have to insert the hostname under ’Server’.
If you select PFL_TAPE, you have to insert the device under ’Pysical device’
(e.g./dev/st0).
Columns
’Device configuration’ menu and toolbar see ’Editing configuration data’ on page 138.
Note: You should not configure device names, which start with an X.
