8.6.4 Logical Paths
Under ‘Look in’ in the file selection box you find so called virtual paths like $TARGET or
$PFL (POD-Module). These paths lead to directories, where you can store specific files de-
pendent on their usage. Some of these directories can also be accessed via the ’Job At-
tributes’ -> ’Store Output’ dialog.
You can use the Directory Viewer to administrate and modify the logical directories. They
are integrated in the ’Server Files’ node under the ’Libraries’, Archives’ and ’Devices’ en-
ties.:
All Modules
$TARGET
(Libraries node)
The original files in their native format are stored in ‘$TARGET/login#filena-
me’ if they are marked for public access and in ’$TARGET/login/filename if
the files are not accessible by other users.
’Impset’ (POD-Module only):
In this directory you store impositioning parameter sets, which have been
prepared with the Professional Document Composer. These parameter
sets can be used with the Web Client for impositioning. The sets will be
stored with the *.imp file extension.
APA-, OLDS- and LCDS-Modules
$DEVICE
(Devices node)
Only APA-Module and LCDS Module. You can use this path to select devic-
es as input media ( for LCDS resource input media ).
Use the devices QIC, TAPE and CARTRIDGE for APA Jobs
or the other devices XFLOPPY_35 ( 3 ½" floppy ), XFLOPPY_525 ( 5 ¼"
floppy), XRES_QIC, XRES_CARTRIDGE and XRES_TAPE ( Xerox Re-
source QIC, cartridge and tape ) for LCDS Devices.
For "APA" devices and XFLOPPY... the content of the respective device is
shown.
In the LCDS-Module the appropriate LCDS format "Resource" is chosen au-
tomatically
jsl Library link to the jsl library of the selected custom catalog to choose the JSL
to be compiled.
Automatically the appropriate LCDS format "JSL" is chosen.
rds Library link to the rds library of the selected custom catalog to choose the
resource to be sampled.
Automatically the appropriate LCDS format "Sample" is chosen.
