5 PRISMAproduction Explorer
5.1 Introduction
The PRISMAproduction Explorer provides full functionality for monitoring and administra-
tion of the PRISMAproduction system. The tree structure makes it easy to access functions.
This structure is only available when the connection to the server has successfully been
performed and all the data have been transferred. Due to the system’s performance this
may take a while.
PRISMA Explorer and Windows
The support for installing the Explorer client locally on a WINDOWS desktop is still provid-
ed. To run the PRISMA Explorer on Desktops Java Web Start is now a more flexible and
comfortable tool. No PRISMA component must be installed locally any more.

MAproduction Administrator Guide.
Note: Under Java Web Start control the Explorer runs in the Sandbox Model, i.e. with no
specific rights on the local machine. One of the consequences is that the user lan-
guage cannot be set as stated in the PRISMA User Management. Hence the user
language on a desktop is always the operating system language.
