Hold Locked Jobs [h]
Number of hours, after which locked jobs will be deleted from the server.
Max. number of jobs
You can define the maximum number of jobs that can be active simultaneously in the ODS.
The default is 0 jobs (no upper limit). Without indicating an upper limit the number of possi-
ble active jobs is limited by the setting of the minimum free disk space on the system.
ODS protocol level
You can define a protocol level for the ODS system. For normal operation select level 1
from a range of 1-5. Default value is level 1 (lowest protocol level).
Check sequence [s]
Enter the interval at which ODS is to check the condition of jobs and the attached computer
systems. You specify the value in seconds. The entry '0' turns the check off altogether (in-
advisable). A low number makes for more frequent polling, which ensures that the system
will quickly detect whether a computer is inactive However, this also increases the traffic on
the system.
Defaulr: 30 s
Max. connect time [s]
This timeout value defines the time allowed for a network connection to be established. The
value must be at least two seconds. If the system workload is extremely high, you can in-
crease this value in order to prevent false alarms. If the network connection is not estab-
lished within the specified time, the participant is reported “physically not available”.
Default:3s
Max. request time [s]
In each polling interval (see 'Check sequence') ODS sends a network message to all com-
puters, and each computer immediately acknowledges. If no response is received within
the 'ODS max. request time', the system is considered to be 'logically out of order'. How-
ever, a heavy system workload can cause a delay in the processing and acknowledgement
of the message by the remote computer. If you know the workload is going to be heavy, it
is therefore advisable to set a request time of between 30 and 45 seconds.
Default: 45s
