Thegearpumpowtestshouldbeperformedtomakesurethatthemow,
steering,cuttingdecklift/lowerandtractionchargecircuitshaveadequate
hydraulicow.GearpumpsectionsareillustratedinFigure73.Therstgear
pumpsectionprovideshydraulicowforbothwingcuttingdecks.Thesecond
gearpumpsectionprovideshydraulicowforthefrontcuttingdeck.Thethird
gearpumpsectionprovideshydraulicowforthesteering,decklift/lowerand
tractionchargecircuits.
Note:Overaperiodoftime,thegearsandwearplatesinthegearpumpcan
wear.Awornpumpwillbypassoilandmakethepumplessefcient.Eventually,
enoughoillosswilloccurtocausecircuitproblems(e.g.cuttingdeckmotors
stallingunderheavycuttingconditions,liftorsteeringproblems).Continued
operationwithaworn,inefcientgearpumpcangenerateexcessiveheatand
causedamagetothesealsandothercomponentsinthehydraulicsystem.

ProcedureforGearPumpFlowTest
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecksfully,disengagePTO
andstopengine.Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
