The S-840V-A uses a 24-position female telephony CHAMP connector interface to
provide phone and data services to the customer. A cable is connected to the
connector on the S-840V-A to bring POTS signals to a standard screw or IDC
terminal block. The block provides electrical connectivity at the network
demarcation point between operator and subscriber.
The S-840V-A provides connection capacity as follows:
• 4 residences supported per S-840V-A, 12 residences per modular ONT maximum
• 8 POTS interfaces per S-840V-A, 24 POTS lines per modular ONT maximum
• 4 VDSL2 interfaces per S-840V-A, 12 VDSL2 lines per modular ONT maximum
• up to three S-840V-As in each modular ONT

Note — The number of ONTs per PON is limited by bandwidth per
ONT and the mixture of ONT types (for example, outdoor ONT,
modular ONT).
