36.4 Output connections on the PowerShield
The UPS is equipped with intelligent internal diagnostics, which provide power
supply alarm signals. These signals can be monitored by the service provider so that
corrective actions can be taken. Proper escalation of alarms can dramatically
improve QoS. Table 36-3 describes the alarm connector pinouts and their associated
states.

Alarm Description
ON BATTERY Four beeps at 1-s intervals, no repeating.
LOW BATTERY Four beeps at 1-s intervals, repeating every 5 min.
REPLACE BATTERY One 0.5-s beep, repeating every 5 min.
