36.1 Identification
Table 36-1 provides identification information about the APC UPS cable assembly
with beeper unit.

36.2 Features and application notes
The APC UPS cable assembly with beeper provides:
• a local power connection from the PowerShield to the subscriber equipment
• fast and simple connections reducing installation time
• audible beeper assembly for alarms
• alarm disable push button that silences the Battery Missing alarm
• maximum voltage of 30 V
• maximum current of 5 mA
36.3 General description
The cable assembly with beeper as shown in Figure 36-1 is optional. The beeper
assembly attaches to the UPS and has an audible beeper, which sounds when an
alarm is detected. See Table 36-2 for a description of the alarms and their associated
beeps. The beeper also has an alarm disable function for the Battery Missing alarm
that is activated when the alarm disable push button, as shown in Figure 36-2, is
pushed. Its status is acknowledged only when the system has flagged a REPLACE
BATT signal. When acknowledged, the alarm disable function silences the
REPLACE BATT beep sound for 24 h. If the battery has not been replaced after 24
h, the REPLACE BATT beep sound resumes.
