Maximum guaranteed length is 30 km.
10.12 Power consumption
The following sections describe power consumption ranges for Alcatel-Lucent
ONTs.
Outdoor ONTs
For all outdoor ONTs, you can connect input power using either the screw-down
terminals or the multi-position IDC connector. Battery alarm inputs are provided
using the IDC connector.
Typically, ringing a 5REN phone takes less than 4 W (2 seconds on/4 seconds off).
Ringing a typical phone takes less than 1 W.
All O-2xxx-x and O-4xxx-x ONTs that use power supplies require 12 V DC input
power supplies. All O-8xxx-x ONTs require 48 V DC input power supplies. See the
appropriate ONT data sheet for specific UPS support.
Table 10-26 provides typical power consumption specifications for outdoor ONTs,
based on the O-421E-A ONT, not including the SOHO outdoor ONT.

Note — The following information is for ETSI customers only:
Power propagating in the fiber is 3.16 mW out of the ONT.
The maximum modulation frequency is 1244 MHz.
Operating wavelength is 1310 nm nominal in the ONT.
Operation time of the automatic power reduction of the ONT
transmitted optical power is 1 s or less.
