Figure 9-4. Example Circuit Connections with a DAC ES
Ring-Node Circuit Configuration Screen
Figure 9-5 on page 9-8 shows an example of a ring-node with point-to-point
circuit overlay. The node has a west-facing DAC 155oM, and an east-facing
RAC 30. The essential information can be summarized as:
• RAC 30 is configured for a capacity of 32xE1 (configured in its plug-ins
screen).
• DAC 155oM has a 63xE1 capacity (standard DAC 155oM capacity).
Item Description
1 A DAC ES requires an E1 or DS1 backplane.
2 Shows a DAC ES (DAC ES in slot 4).
3 Shows the circuit connection for the DAC ES. In this example 16x 2.048 Mbps
circuits are assigned to Link 1 to provide a 32 Mbps Ethernet connection.
4 Circuit names can be user defined.
5 With the toggle down, the From and To ports are listed in order.
6 C1 refers to channel 1 on the DAC ES (C1 or C2).
