4. Depending on the load, activation may be completed within a few seconds, or
take up to two minutes, during which period “Cannot contact the unit” may
be displayed along with orange load-state LEDs and cycling of front panel
LEDs.
5. At the end of this period 9500 MXC returns to normal operation. There is no
requirement to reset a 9500 MXC Node or Terminal on completion of a
software load - the new version automatically replaces the old version. The
previous version of software is retained for rollback.
6. For CT to auto-version with the new software you must exit your CT session
and log back in. For software releases from March 2005, an on-screen
message prompts for CT exit and restart.
7. When logged back in, check for normal Node/Terminal operation in the
System Summary screen.
Transfer Only
Upon clicking the Start button:
• Steps 1) and 2) of the Load and Activate process are completed, with
completion indicated by a blue load state LED and “Software (version)
transferred, awaiting activation” displayed in the Software State lines.
Activate Transferred Software
Upon clicking the Start button:
• Steps 4) and 5) of the Load and Activate process are completed, which must be
followed by the CT log-out / log-in steps of 6) and 7).
