Torque converter (b) The torque system monitors the torque during a tightening process. The measurement is made via DMS
technology: In the nutrunner, the generated signal is converted, digitalized, and transferred contact-free
to the tightening controller as a protocol checked for plausibility.
EC motor (c) The speed of the EC motor can be controlled independently of the given torque (i.e. the EC motor
provides the required torque, even at very low speeds). The EC motor's compact design facilitates fast
run-up and braking, which results in a high level of tightening precision and quality.
Angle of turn
measurement (d)
The angle of turn system monitors the angle of turn during a tightening process. The angle of turn is
measured contact-free and digitally transferred to the controller. Thus, the controller can recognize the
ErgoSpin's angle of turn and direction of rotation at any time.
Electronics (e) The ErgoSpin hand-held nutrunner is equipped with electronics allowing to digitally exchange data with
the power electronics and the controller. In addition, existing controller signals are evaluated and
forwarded accordingly.
New series of nutrunners
The new series of ErgoSpin hand-held nutrunners is equipped with a motion detector by default. This way,
the effects of rotary motions of the hand-held nutrunner, which may occur at tightening tools freely
handled by the operator, are compensated. See also section Special operating features of the hand-held
nutrunner ErgoSpin/CC-ErgoSpin (page 626). This function is available as of version BS350 operating
system version V2.500.
These hand-held nutrunners are distinguished by the addition ...-G in the code (see nameplate) and by
their gray start switch.

Optional additional module barcode scanner
For all models of the ErgoSpin hand-held nutrunner, except for the ESM pistol grip nutrunner, a barcode
scanner is available as optional accessory.
As of firmware version esfw-220A1.mhx, the ErgoSpin hand-held nutrunner does not require any special
firmware version for hand-held nutrunners with optional additional module.
ErgoSpin hand-held nutrunners with gray start switch support the optional additional module as of
firmware version esfw-300A4_CRC6758.mhx.
