Positioning the Fabius MRI at MRT
System
Preparation
Before first use of the Fabius MRI in the MRT room,
perform steps as follows:
z Define the 40 mtesla field strength distribution
in Z and X direction by using an external Tesla
meter.
z Locate the desired position for Fabius MRI
(e.g., left or right side of MRT system).
z Using an anti-magnetic tape measure, mark the
position for the trolley on the floor with yel-
low/black adhesive tape and enter it in the
equipment installation drawing.
WARNING
The Fabius MRI anesthesia machine has been
tested with magnets with field strengths of
1.5 tesla and 3 tesla by a fringe field strenth of
40 mtesla (400 gauss). Use of the machine at
higher strengths could result in ventilator and
device malfunction. Additionally, unmanage-
able attractive forces could lead to serious
injury.

Fill in the “Record of Transfer and Installation” pro-
vided in the Appendix 3 of this manual.
