13.2.1.8 Metering rates
The reproducible metering accuracy is approximately ± 3% at minimum 30% hub length
and under constant conditions.
Due to the characteristics of the pump, higher outputs can occur until operating
temperature is reached.
Accurate metering can be achieved by complying with the following points:
n All metering output data refers to water at 20 °C, as well as to constant supply voltage
and with the metering pump operating at normal running temperature.
n T
o obtain high metering accuracy when metering with free discharge, a pressure
control valve (or metering valve) should be used to generate a back-pressure of at
least 0.05 MPa (0.5 bar) that is as consistent as possible.
n If there is pre-pressure on the suction side, the pressure dif
ference between the
suction and pressure side must be at least 0.1 MPa (1 bar). The water column on the
metering pump must be protected by an appropriate valve arrangement.
A pressure control valve or a metering valve is not a shut-off device with a total
seal.
CAUTION!
Dosing hub adjustment must be performed only when the pump is running and
the stroke adjustment screw is relieved.
