7. DISASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT
7.8.2 Preliminary Preparations for Pasting On New Plate
(1) Wipe off the front and rear surfaces of the electrostatic adhesion plate with ethyl alcohol to remove any
dirt and dust.
(2) Prepare pieces of double-sided tape of various widths* and paste them on to the rear surface of the
electrostatic adhesion plate following the procedure below.
• Using narrow double-sided tape, make a border around three sides of the electrostatic adhesion plate
(leaving one of the longer sides untaped).
(Leave 1 mm open between the tape and the edge of the electrostatic adhesion plate.)
NOTE: Never let the tape overlap!
* “Pieces of double-sided tape of various widths” means tape of 120, 20, 10, 5 mm width at the
production stage. If it is difcult to prepare pieces of tape of these widths, use double-sided tape as
close to these widths as possible.
• Tape on lengthwise strips of wide double-sided tape at intervals of 5 mm.
NOTE: Never let the tape overlap!
Tape on the double-sided tape in such a way that the gap is as negligible as possible at the high-
voltage power supply cable installation section.
• Finally, use a combination of wide and narrow double-sided tape so that there is no untaped interval
greater than 5 mm.
NOTE: Never let the tape overlap!
