Auxiliary Output Signals
In addition to a calibration signal, the following signals can be output through the AUX OUTPUT
connector:
Square Wave
Trigger Out - can be used to trigger another scope
DC level - a reference level
Trigger Enabled - can be used as a gating function to trigger another instrument when
the scope is ready
Pass/Fail - allows you to set a pulse duration from 1 ms to 500 ms; generates a pulse
when pass/fail testing is active and conditions are met.
Aux Output Off - turns off the auxiliary output signal
Auxiliary Output Setup
1. In the menu bar, touch Utilities, then Utilities Setup... in the drop-down menu.
2. Touch the Aux Output tab.
3. If you simply want a 1 kHz, 1 V square wave, touch the button so labeled.
4. If you want a specialized output, touch one of the buttons under Use Auxiliary Output For.
5. Touch inside the Amplitude data entry field and enter a value, using the pop-up numeric
keypad. If you want a TTL level signal, touch the TTL Level checkbox. The Amplitude field
will accordingly become unavailable.
6. If you selected Square Wave, touch inside the Frequency data entry field and enter a value,
using the pop-up keypad. You can set a value from 5.0 Hz to 5 MHz.
7. If you selected Pass/Fail, touch inside the Pulse Duration field and enter a value from 1 ms
to 500 ms, using the pop-up numeric keypad.
