10.11 Flying restart funcon
This funcon makes it possible to restart a coasng motor on the y during operaon without
speed feedback. Synchronicity betw
een the inverter and the motor is coordinated so that the
transion to the rotang drive is eected without jerk at the me of connecon.
Precondions
The "Flying restart process" funcon is only suit
able for asynchronous motors.
The "Flying restart process" funcon is only used if selecon 2 is se
t as starng performance
in 0x2838:001 (PAR 203/001).
Details
The funcon works with a simple motor model requiring knowledge of the motor stator resist-
ance and the rated motor current. The inverter determines synchronicity by idenfying the
synchronous eld frequency. The "Flying restart process" is completed within approx.
0.5 ... 1.5 seconds. The duraon is inuenced by the start frequency 0x2BA1:001
(PAR 718/001). If the eld frequency is not known, a xed start frequency of 10 Hz (or -10 Hz
for systems rotang in the negave direcon) is recommended.

Current that is injected into the motor during the ying restart process
for the idencaon of the speed.
Reducing the current causes a reducon of the motor torque during
the ying restart process. A short-me starng acon or reversing of
the motor is prevented with low ying restart currents.
If the current is increased, this improves the robustness of the ying
restart funcon.
