11.3 Basic Measurement
11.3.1 Depth
• Phased array probe: the depth is the distance from the center of the sector to the cursor.
• Convex array probe: the depth is the distance from the transducer surface to the measuring
cursor in the direction of the ultrasonic wave.
Perform the following procedure:
1. Select [Depth] in the measurement menu.
The cursor appears on the screen.
2. Move the cursor to the desired point.
3. Tap on the screen to set the measurement point and the result displays in the results window.
11.3.2 Distance
Measures the distance between two points on the image.
On 2D image
Perform the following procedure:
1. Select [Distance] in the measurement menu.
The cursor appears on the screen.
2. Move the cursor to the starting point.
3. Move the cursor to the end point.
– Tap [Clear All] to cancel setting the starting point.
– Tap [Update] to switch between the fixed end and the active end of the caliper.
4. Tap on the screen to set the end point.
On M image
Perform the following procedure:
1. Select [Distance] in the measurement menu.
The cursor appears in the center of the screen.
2. Move the cursor to the starting point and tap on the screen.
3. Move the cursor to the end point. The cursor can then only be moved in a vertical direction.
Then
– Tap [Update] to switch between the fixed end and active end of the caliper. Or
– Tap [Clear All] to cancel setting the starting point.
4. Tap on the screen to set the end point.
11.3.3 Angle
On B/C image, measures the angle of two crossing planes on the image and the range is: 0° to 180°.
Perform the following procedure:
1. Select [Angle] in the measurement menu.
The cursor appears on the screen.
2. Set two line segments as described in section 11.3.2.
