SIMATIC Micro Memory Card
A SIMATIC Micro Memory Card (MMC) is used as the memory medium for the
IM151-3 PN. The MMC can be used as a portable data medium.
ThefollowingdataaresavedontheMMC:
• Process-related data (device names)
• Data for a firmware update
Note
You can save either process-related data or update data on one MMC.
Life of an MMC
The life of an MMC depends on the following major factors:
1. The number of delete or programming cycles
2. External influences, such as the ambient temperature
At an ambient temperature up to 60 ° C,theMMChasausefullifeof10yearsat
maximum 100,000 deletion and write operations.

Always ensure that the maximum number of delete/write cycles is not exceeded to
prevent data loss.
