2.4 Cable distributor

The cable distributor consists of a connector jacket for a 37–pin Sub–D connec-
tor with enlarged interior. The cable distributor is used to split the I/O electronic
handwheel extension interface (X121) to a maximum of 7 single cables. These
must be connected in the order shown in Table 2-9, Page 2-63.
To supply the digital outputs, an external 24 V supply is possible at the cable
distributor.

Insert the appropriate individual cable in the opened cable distributor at the as-
sociated connector X1 to X10. Place the cable in the appropriate cable guide.
Make sure that the shield jackets that became free have a large conductive
connection to the metallic contact areas of the cable distributor. See Fig. 2-11,
Page 2-62. Locate the upper terminal bar in such a way that its ”teeth” are fac-
ing the ”teeth” of the lower terminal bar and then retain the upper housing sec-
tion.
