1.3 Notes on commissioning
This SINUMERIK 840Di sl Manual describes the basic commissioning of the
following components:
S SINUMERIK 840Di sl NC and PLC
S SINAMICS S120 drives
S Ethernet communication
S PROFIBUS DP and DP components
Notice
We recommend performing commissioning of the SINUMERIK 840Di sl
according to the sequence in which the chapters of this manual are laid out.
To commissioning the SINUMERIK 840Di sl, the following software is required
(part of a SINUMERIK 840Di sl):
S NCK commissioning:
– 840Di start–up
– SinuCom NC
S PLC commissioning, including MPI and PROFIBUS communication:
– SlaveOM for SIMODRIVE drives
– PLC basic program
S SIMODRIVE drive commissioning
– SimoCom U
To commissioning the SINUMERIK 840Di sl, the following software is needed
(not part of a SINUMERIK 840Di sl):
S PLC commissioning, including MPI and PROFIBUS DP communication:
– SIMATIC Manager STEP 7: as from Version 5.3, Service Pack 2
– SlaveOM for SINAMICS drives (part of STARTER)
S SINAMICS drive commissioning
– STARTER
The following hardware components are required for commissioning:
S a programming device with MPI/PROFIBUS interface, e.g., PG740:
– Creation of the SIMATIC S7 project for commissioning of the PLC, as
well as the MPI and PROFIBUS communication
