• ForOnAir3000systems:inthe dsp.ini file located in the OA3000\
Firmware folder on the core host card.
• ForRoute6000systems:inthe CoreDriver.ini file located in the
Route6000 folder on the core host card.
The IP address normally is the same as or similar to the one indicated above,
but may also be completely different, depending your network setup.
The subnet mask is the same as in the root folder in the OAlaunch.ini file
of the core, and normally it is identical or similar to the subnet mask indicated
above, but may also be completely different according to your network setup.
In case of a fixed IP address it should be entered manually. If in doubt, consult
your IT/network administrator.
IP Adress via DHCP As the new card’s MAC address is different from the old one, the DHCP
server needs to ‘know’ the new MAC address before it can connect to it. This
MAC address can be found using the procedure described under ‘IP Address
Setting’ below. Then, update the card’s MAC address in the DHCP server. If
in doubt, consult your IT/network administrator.
3.3.1.3 IP Address Setting
1 Make sure that the network settings of your computer are as follows:
IP address = 192.168.1.99
Subnet mask = 255.255.0.0
2 For connecting to the bridge card, first make sure that the card uses the factory
default settings (see above). Insert the card into the core frame. Do not connect
it to the network yet but to your computer instead. After having powered up
the frame and the computer, login to the bridge card’s web interface using a
web browser; enter http://192.168.1.15/ in the browser’s address line.
3 Select Core management, password: studer (case-sensitive).
4 Select View/Change IP addresses configuration. This allows entering
a new IP address as well as looking up the card’s MAC address.
5 Enter the correct IP address. Click on Apply settings at next startup.
6 Restart the core and connect the card to the network.
3.3.1.4 IP Address Recovery
Let us assume that you need to replace a bridge card by another bridge card
from your spares stock of which you do not know whether it has already
been used or whether it is fresh from the factory. In other words, you do not
know what IP address it has, but it is important to know it because you want
to connect to the card in order to change the address :-) Proceed as follows:
1 Make sure that the network settings of your computer are as follows:
IP address = 192.168.1.99
Subnet mask = 255.255.0.0.
2 Start your internet browser. In the following example we will use Internet
Explorer; if you use a different browser, the procedure will be similar. Select
Internet Options from the Tools menu. Select LAN Settings, and
uncheck Use a proxy server... in the Proxy server area. Click OK.
